This entry brings together several product explainer videos I made for end users. The first was for Cisco; later work includes Snyk, Coro, and Visual Layer.
The audience
Some users choose video over written documentation. The audience also included people with different technical knowledge, so I wrote each explanation with enough detail for a technical user and enough context for everyone else.
Production
I planned and wrote most of the videos and handled part of the production on some of them. For Snyk I was also the voice of the narrations. For the Visual Layer video, I handled the full process myself using Remotion and Claude.
Why I tested AI production
Video production had been too expensive for the small marketing teams I worked in and I've never been satisfied with the output of any video creation/editing platform I've tried (and I've tried almost all of them) for SaaS products specifically. I was thrilled with the final product for the Visual Layer piece, proving one marketer with a bit of technical prowess could produce the full video with Remotion and Claude while keeping the explanation accurate and the visuals quality.
